Google Maps is a free Internet service which offers mapping technology, including driving directions, walking directions, and public transportation information. Google Earth is a similar service which uses satellite imagery to show users 3D buildings, detailed roads, and even ocean floor and surface data. There are several reasons why you may want to import a Google map into Google Earth. For example, you may create driving directions in Google Maps and then wish to view the directions in Google Earth in order to get a better idea of what the route looks like.
